Makié Combines Japanese Simplicity With American Quality

I recently discovered the Makié label via J. Crew's Crewcuts' website.  Designer Makié Yahagi created the children's line after moving to New York City from Japan.  She wanted to 'mix Japanese simplicity with American quality.'  The label is incredibly chic and masters the casual style of combining plaid prints with sweaters and sweatshirts. It reminds me of a kid version of one of my favorite Japanese labels 45Rpm.  Check out their website here or visit their store in Soho at 109 Thompson Street, NY, NY 10012.
